ABOUT Earth Element COUNSELLING

Earth Element Counselling was founded by Kate Fitzsimmons, a Geelong counsellor with clinical expertise in the areas of adult and adolescent mental health, behavioural change counselling, specialist family intervention, and trauma counselling. She has a keen interest in supporting individuals with anxiety, communication difficulties, low self-esteem, overcoming trauma, emotional difficulties, relationship issues and behavioural change.

Kate is dedicated to providing compassionate and individualised care, fostering growth, healing, and resilience. She helps her clients navigate challenges by using a holistic and client-centered approach to counselling that integrates evidence-based techniques, and a deep understanding of the unique experiences that shape each individual. Her calm and patient nature allows clients to work at their own pace, unpacking their personal experiences and identifying the barriers that impact their day-to-day life.

Frequently asked questions

What type of concerns can Earth Element help me with?

Earth Element can help you with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress management, burnout, low self-esteem, emotional difficulties, communication difficulties, problematic thinking, trauma healing, behaviour change and more. Earth Element provides talk therapy and strategies to help you implement change; we do not diagnose disorders or prescribe medications.

How long will my appointment go for?

Initial consultations, standard and after-hours counselling appointments are all 50 minutes in duration.

Does Earth Element provide a Medicare or private health rebate?

Medicare or private health rebates are not available at Earth Element. Counsellors are unfortunately not covered by Medicare for counselling, and Earth Element is not registered for private health rebates.

What is Earth Element's cancellation policy?

Earth Element requires a minimum of 48hrs notice for cancellations or reschedules. This ensures that other clients in need don't miss out on appointment timeslots. The standard consultation fee of $130 applies to all appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice. A full consultation fee will be charged for non-attendance.

Where is Earth Element located?

At Geneva House - Level 1, Suite 4/32 Myers St, Geelong.

Enter Geneva House via the door closest to the left (you will see a ramp from the driveway leading to this door). Make your way up the two sets of stairs to your right. Once on the landing, follow the passage to your right and down the steps to the small waiting area. Your counsellor will meet you here at your allocated appointment time.

Does the room have disability access?

Earth Element is located on an upper level accessed via stairs. If you are unable to use stairs but would like to schedule an initial consultation to decide if Earth Element Counselling is right for you, schedule a telehealth appointment or please contact us directly using the "contact" button on our website to discuss alternative options.
